Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Rayong, Thailand, for a Commissioning Engineer. The Commissioning Engineer will conduct electrical testing and commissioning for data center infrastructure to ensure systems meet operational and safety requirements. Responsibilities include troubleshooting issues, coordinating commissioning processes, validating system performance, and collaborating with engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions. The role also encompasses preparing detailed reports and maintaining high compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilties
- Monitor data center project on a 24/7 basis including power distribution systems, HVAC and cooling systems, environmental controls, fire protection and security systems through monitoring platforms and tools.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure operations remain within design parameters and comply with safety and regulatory standards.
- Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, perform troubleshooting, coordinate corrective actions, and escalate issues to relevant teams when required.
- Execute commissioning plans and schedules in line with project requirements and data center standards.
- Prepare, review, and maintain commissioning procedures, test plans, reports and related technical documentation.
- Control commissioning quality, coordinate with internal teams and vendors and ensure testing activities meet schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives.
- Handle emergencies during both operational and commissioning phases, summarize testing issues and propose corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, incident reports, commissioning results and equipment inventories.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, network operations, project teams, and customer support to optimize overall data center performance.
- Communicate with clients and provide on-site technical support during operations and commissioning activities.
- Support customers using data center services and ensure service continuity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related field.
- (Fresh graduates are welcome for junior-level positions.)
- Experience in data center operations, facilities management, or commissioning projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of data center systems, including Electrical (HV/LV), HVAC, Fire Protection and Environmental Monitoring Systems.
- Understanding of commissioning processes, data center delivery standards and testing procedures.
- Proficient in using monitoring systems and tools to analyze operational data.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; able to perform effectively under pressure.
- Good communication skills; responsible, self-motivated and a strong team player.
- Ability to review commissioning plans, schedules and technical reports.
- Project management experience is an advantage; PMP certification is a plus.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
- Able to travel or stay on-site for extended periods when required.
- Language skills: ThaiEnglish or ThaiMandarin communication is preferred.
