Job Description

Job Title: Industrial Gear Sales Engineer (Sales Engineer: IG)

Key Responsibilities:

Customer & Application Support

  • Visit customer sites to understand project requirements, provide technical consultation, and evaluate feasibility of industrial drive solutions.
  • Perform drive selections and recommend products (SEW-EURODRIVE and third-party) tailored to customer needs.
  • Generate quotations, proposals, and 3D models/drawings for customer review and approval.
  • Assist customers during installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of industrial systems.
  • Collaborate with internal and international teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

Sales & Account Management

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities at customer sites.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing accounts, understanding their ongoing needs.
  • Achieve sales targets by proposing technical solutions that deliver value to customers.
  • Support Sales Managers in project follow-ups, bid preparation, and documentation of project insights to improve future opportunities.

Additional Duties

  • Represent the company professionally at customer sites, trade shows, and technical events.
  • Travel domestically and occasionally internationally for customer visits, exhibitions, or training.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance technical knowledge and sales skills.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical preferred; candidates with strong sales experience in industrial products will also be considered.
  • At least 25 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, or customer-facing industrial roles.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial drives, motors, or heavy machinery products is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, specifications, and industrial standards in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel frequently and work independently at customer sites.
  • Strong in English.
