Job Description: Technology Project Manager – TSA & Legal Day 1 Readiness
Role Purpose
The Technology Project Manager is accountable for planning and delivering technology workstreams that enable Legal Day 1 readiness, with a primary focus on establishing and managing Transitional Service Agreements (TSAs) (i.e., services provided/received during a transition period to ensure continuity). The role ensures critical technology services, dependencies, controls, and governance are in place for Day 1 and that TSA delivery is managed through stabilisation and transition-to-exit.
Key Accountabilities (What you'll do)
1) Day 1 Readiness & Delivery Management
- Own and drive the integrated plan for Technology Legal Day 1 readiness, ensuring all milestones, deliverables, and entry/exit criteria are defined and met.
- Establish and manage detailed project plans across applications, infrastructure, networks, end-user computing, identity & access, data, service management, and operational readiness.
- Coordinate cutover planning, rehearsal activities, go/no-go criteria, and hypercare/stabilisation for Day 1.
2) TSA Scope Definition, Mobilisation & Governance
- Define the Technology TSA catalogue (services in scope, service descriptions, boundaries, dependencies, assumptions).
- Support TSA drafting inputs: service schedules, SLAs/OLAs, RACI, reporting, escalation paths, pricing/chargeback inputs (where applicable), and control requirements.
- Put in place TSA governance: service reviews, KPI reporting, issue triage, change control, dispute management, and decision logs.
- Ensure TSAs align with target operating model and do not create unmanaged operational, security, or regulatory risk.
3) Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Manage senior stakeholder engagement across Technology, Legal, Procurement/Vendor Management, Finance, Risk/Compliance, Operations, Cyber Security, Data Privacy, and Business Owners.
- Coordinate third parties and internal suppliers to confirm deliverables, responsibilities, and operational handshakes.
- Drive decisions at pace, escalating blockers with clear options and impact assessments.
4) Risk, Controls, and Regulatory Discipline
- Maintain project RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) with actionable mitigations and clear owners.
- Ensure appropriate controls are followed (e.g., change management, access controls, auditability, data handling, resilience, incident management).
- Produce clear status reporting for steering forums, including compliance/control milestones relevant to Day 1.
5) Transition-to-Exit / TSA Exit Planning
- Develop and own the TSA exit plan and timeline: service separation, migration, decommissioning, and handover to BAU/target state.
- Track exit readiness criteria, including technology remediation, operational capability, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
- Reduce TSA duration and risk through proactive dependency management and delivery acceleration where feasible.
Key Deliverables
- Legal Day 1 integrated plan, cutover plan, and readiness packs
- Technology TSA catalogue and service schedules (inputs)
- TSA governance cadence, KPI reporting pack, and escalations framework
- RAID log, dependency maps, and decision log
- Operational readiness artefacts (runbooks, support model, handover plans)
- TSA exit plan and transition roadmap to target state
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience (What you'll bring)
Essential
- Proven experience as a Technology Project Manager delivering complex, cross-domain change (applications/infrastructure/ops).
- Demonstrated delivery experience in separations, carve-outs, mergers, entity moves, major transitions, or Day 1 events.
- Strong understanding of service management concepts (service catalogues, SLAs/OLAs, incident/problem/change processes).
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and governance skills; comfortable presenting to senior forums.
- Strong planning and execution discipline (critical path management, dependency mapping, RAID, reporting).
Desirable
- Experience working with Transitional Service Agreements (TSAs) or similar transition service constructs.
- Familiarity with technology risk, controls, audit, cyber/security, and data privacy considerations in transitional environments.
- Experience coordinating vendors/outsourced service providers and managing contractual service obligations.
- Exposure to tooling: MS Project/Plan, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Power BI (or equivalents).
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM) or equivalent experience.
- ITIL foundation (or strong service management background).
Ways of Working (Behaviours)
- Takes accountability for outcomes, escalates early, and drives decisions with clear options.
- Works collaboratively across boundaries; values different perspectives to land pragmatic solutions.
- Operates with discipline and integrity in regulated environments (controls-first mindset).
- Focuses on delivery momentum while maintaining quality and operational safety.
Additional Information
- This role may require working to fixed milestones and supporting out-of-hours cutover or hypercare activities around Legal Day 1.
- Background screening and role-based access approvals may apply.
