Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a motivatedAutomation Design Engineer Internto support the design and development of automation solutions for manufacturing processes. This internship provides hands-on experience intooling, fixture design, and workstation optimizationto enhance production efficiency. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining practical knowledge inmechanical design, CAD modeling, and process improvementwhile contributing to real-world projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and development oftooling, jigs, and fixturesfor manufacturing automation
• Support concept designs forcomponent handling systems and workstation layouts
• Create2D/3D CAD models and technical drawingsusing SolidWorks or similar software
• Conduct basictolerance studies, GD&T analysis, and simulationsto verify design
• Support engineering projects fromconcept to implementationunder the guidance of senior engineers
• Assist inproject scheduling, documentation, and reporting
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of automation solutions
• Coordinate with vendors for the procurement of engineering components and materials
• Help analyze and troubleshoottooling, fixtures, and automation equipment
• Participate in feasibility studies fornew product transfers and process enhancements
• Contribute toLean Manufacturinginitiatives and workspace optimization efforts

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Currently pursuingBachelor's degree inMechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Automation and Robotics Engineeringor equivalent experience
• Basic proficiency inSolidWorks or similar CAD software
• Strong interest inmechanical design, automation, and engineering analysis
• Basic understanding ofGD&T, simulations, and tolerance studies(preferred but not required)
• Familiarity withMicrosoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)for reporting and documentation
• Strongproblem-solving and analytical skills
• Good command ofspoken and written English
• Ability towork in a team environment and learn quickly

PREFERRED:

• Basic knowledge ofautomation systems, robotic handling, or manufacturing processes
• Exposure toLean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or ISO standardsis a plus
• Previousinternship or project experiencein automation or mechanical design (preferred but not required)
