Intern - Materials Engineer (Studying Bachelor Degree)

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking a Project-Based Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing and operations team. This role focuses on identifying and executing improvement opportunities to enhance product quality, factory efficiency, and reliability performance within the HGA (Head Gimbal Assembly) operation. The successful candidate will drive projects related to key components such as Solder, Adhesive, PZT, Slider, and Suspension, aiming to elevate overall production capability and performance.

• Analyze current production processes and product performance data to identify improvement opportunities
• Lead and execute projects focused on key improvement areas such as:
  • Defect reduction and yield enhancement.
  • Product reliability improvement and drive failure reduction.
  • Capacity and productivity improvement through process optimization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solution
• Apply structured problem-solving methods (e.g., DMAIC, 8D, FMEA) to address root causes and prevent recurrence
• Conduct trials, validate changes, and monitor performance against established KPIs

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, and nano engineering.
• Internship student in the cooperative education program (CWIE) is required to have an internship period of at least 4-6 months

SKILLS:

• Skills in Project Management
• Knowledge in Statistical Analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Demonstrate a good level of English proficiency (written/verbal)
