Job Description

Job purpose:

The Manager Internal Audit is expected to lead, supervise and coach a team of internal auditors on a risk-based internal audit process. This position is expected to oversee audit fieldwork for internal audit reviews to ensure that these are completed to a good standard, and that audit fieldwork effectively satisfies the review objectives. This includes reviews of work performed by the audit team, and producing draft reports that are clear, comprehensive and complete, which can effectively add value to the organization.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in annual audit planning as necessary.
  • Assist in the planning of internal audit projects, including assisting in assigning scope areas to team members, assisting in team briefings, and conducting kick-off meetings for internal audit projects.
  • Oversee the execution of internal audit fieldwork by team members, to ensure that review objectives are satisfactorily completed. This includes quality assurance of the fieldwork (and audit working papers) performed by the team members; to facilitate onward quality assurance reviews by the head of the internal audit department.
  • Perform audit fieldwork for scope areas which require more experience and competency.
  • Drafting of internal audit reports to a high standard in the English language.
  • Coaching team members, especially with respect to on-the-job training.
  • Execution of follow-up reviews, including the drafting of reports thereon.
  • Perform other ad hoc work as may be assigned by the head of the internal audit department, senior management of the Company, or the Audit Committee, as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified in Accounting/ Finance/ Management or other relevant qualifications.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant internal audit experience, preferably at the managerial level; and must demonstrate a proven track record of professional achievements
  • Professional qualifications (such as CIMA, ICAEW or ACCA) have a distinct advantage
  • Have professional certifications (CIA/ CISA/ CPA or CPIAT as a minimum) have an advantage
  • Knowledge of oil and gas or manufacturing industries is desirable
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent report-writing skills (in English) is essential for this position
  • Flexible, willing to travel up to 50% of the time (within Thailand and to overseas locations where the Company has business in)
