Our client is a global electronic manufacturing business with revenues well in excess of six billion dollars. The company supports high-technology customers across multiple industries and has delivered sustained growth over many years. Thailand is a key node in their international manufacturing network, and this role sits at the centre of governance and risk for their Thai operations.
The Location
Chonburi and the Eastern Seaboard are among the most established industrial corridors in Southeast Asia.
- Well-connected to Bangkok by road and rail
- Home to a large, well-organised expat professional community
- One of the region's most active destinations for foreign direct investment
- Strong infrastructure for international professionals and their families
- BOI-registered companies in this corridor operate within a well-understood regulatory environment, with decades of history supporting foreign hires at senior level
Professionals who build experience here are in strong demand across Southeast Asia
The Role
This is a substantive leadership position, not a reporting function. You will own the governance and compliance framework for the Thai entity, with direct access to senior leadership and real influence over how the business manages risk.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Leading and strengthening internal controls, governance, and compliance frameworks across finance and operational processes
- Ensuring compliance with SOX, COSO, company policies, Thai regulations, and BOI requirements
- Reviewing and monitoring Segregation of Duties and Delegation of Authority controls
- Coordinating with internal and external auditors; driving timely remediation of audit findings
- Conducting risk assessments and supporting corrective action plans with cross-functional teams
- Reviewing tax compliance, transfer pricing processes, and BOI filings
- Auditing procurement, supplier onboarding, inventory, fixed assets, and operational compliance
- Driving risk awareness initiatives, training programmes, and process improvement activity
What We Are Looking For
Essential:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Internal Audit, or a related discipline
- Minimum five years of experience in internal controls, compliance, audit, or risk management within a multinational manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of SOX, COSO, and regulatory compliance frameworks
- Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP or Hyperion
- Strong English communication skills; Thai language capability is an advantage but not a barrier for the right candidate
- Proactive, collaborative leadership style with the confidence to influence cross-functional teams across cultures and time zones
Preferred:
- CPA, CA, CIA or equivalent professional qualification
A Note for Overseas Candidates
Thailand offers a high quality of life for international professionals, particularly those working in manufacturing and industrial sectors. For a hire at this level, relocation support and visa assistance are standard. If you are already planning a move to Southeast Asia, or open to one for the right role at the right company, this is worth a conversation.
