The International Credit Product Manager is a strategic role that leads the lending strategy development across all responsible countries (PH, KH, MM, ID, VN, MY). Through in-depth research, data analysis, and a deep understanding of customer needs, the Product Manager will identify strengths, weaknesses, operational effectiveness, and opportunities within the lending business. The role requires strong analytical skills, customer insights, and effective communication with regional teams to find synergies and share best practices, ultimately driving the achievement of lending goals.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategy and Innovation
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to develop and implement innovative lending strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives
- Identify and launch new lending products, measure their performance, and iterate quickly to improve them based on data-driven insights
- Lead and guide country teams to innovate customer lending experiences by executing complex integrations and testing hypothesis-driven iterations
- Develop a deep understanding of the consumer lending landscape, competitors, and user needs to inform product decisions
Customer Focus
- Develop an in-depth understanding of customers goals and needs through research, data analysis, and direct interaction
- Bring a customer-focused mentality to all projects and tasks, ensuring that the lending products meet the evolving needs of the target audience
- Work closely with user research teams to gather insights and incorporate them into product development
Collaboration and Communication
- Foster strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, including country lending, business development, finance, engineering, design, risk, compliance, and marketing to build software collaboratively and inclusively
- Communicate effectively with regional teams to identify synergies, share best practices, and ensure alignment across all responsible countries
- Work with other product leaders to define how Ascend's lending products fit into the overall international business development and operations strategy
Risk Management and Compliance
- Interact with Credit, Risk, Legal, and other related personnel regarding issues of credit quality, appropriate compensation for risk, as well as new business and related trends
- Ensure that all lending products and strategies comply with relevant regulations and internal risk management policies
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years work experience in commercial lending business related product / portfolio management capacity in a multinational working environment. (preferably in the fintech and financial industry)
- General Administrative/Technical Skills Proficient knowledge of commercial lending policies, procedures, practices and documentation
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills (English).
- Effective project management skills with proven ability to set priorities to achieve results
- Able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment to drive organizational performance and excellence
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Ability to perform independently with a minimum of supervision.
