Job Overview:
The BSS Intern will support the Business Support System (BSS) team in delivering system enhancements, product configurations, testing, documentation, and operational support for telecommunications applications. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to end-to-end BSS processes, including product catalogue, CRM, billing, order management, payment, and system integration, while working closely with business users, developers, QA teams, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering and documenting business and system requirements.
- Support product configuration activities and system enhancement initiatives under the guidance of senior team members.
- Assist in preparing test scenarios, test cases, and test data for SIT and UAT activities.
- Execute functional testing and document test results, defects, and observations.
- Support defect tracking and follow up with developers, vendors, and business teams until resolution.
- Assist in validating BSS functionalities including product catalogue, CRM, billing, order management, payment, and provisioning workflows.
- Prepare project documentation, meeting minutes, user guides, and operational procedures.
- Support change request (CR) tracking, release documentation, and deployment activities.
- Assist in data validation, report preparation, and impact analysis for system enhancements.
- Participate in project meetings, requirement discussions, and solution walkthrough sessions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the BSS team to support project and operational activities.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and system testing concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of SQL, APIs, or database concepts is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and business processes.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good attention to detail and time management skills.
Internship Details:
- Duration: 4 - 6 months (flexible based on university requirements)
- Location: Glenmarie, Shah Alam
