Key Responsibilities
- Perform refraction and accurately assess visual acuity in accordance with professional standards
- Analyze basic vision problems and provide appropriate recommendations for correction
- Provide consultation on lenses and eyeglass frames suitable for customers prescriptions and usage needs
- Conduct basic ocular screening and refer customers to ophthalmologists when necessary
- Perform pre-eyeglass dispensing eye examinations to ensure accurate prescriptions
- Collaborate with opticians and sales teams to recommend the most suitable eyewear solutions for customers
- Record and maintain accurate customer prescription and vision data
- Educate customers on eye health and proper eye care practices
- Maintain clinical service standards within the optical store
- Support consultative selling to enhance customer experience and satisfaction
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Optometry or equivalent (Doctor of Optometry or related field)
- Licensed optometrist (if applicable, will be considered an advantage)
- Strong knowledge of vision testing, lenses, and visual systems
- Experience in optical clinics or eyewear retail is an advantage
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information in an easy-to-understand way
- High attention to detail and strong professional responsibility
- Customer-service oriented and able to work well in a team
- Ability to work shifts and weekends according to store schedule
