ABOUT NOVISTRA CAPITAL
Novistra Capital is a boutique M&A and PE advisory specialising in cross-border transactions for mid-market businesses with sector expertise in Technology & Services, Education, Healthcare, Financial Institutions, Media & Events, and Hospitality. We advise founders, promoters, and investors on sell-side and buy-side transactions, capital raises, and strategic partnerships.
The firm runs lean and executes to a high standard. Analysts at Novistra carry material responsibility from day one. Senior bankers are directly involved in every transaction, which means the learning curve is steep and the exposure is real.
THE ROLE
The Analyst will play a central role in strengthening Novistra's execution capability and client delivery across cross-border transactions. This is a working seat on live deal teams, not a rotation or a training programme. You will be involved in every stage of a transaction - from initial pitch through to close - and will work directly with senior bankers and clients throughout.
Day-to-day, you will be expected to own the analytical and materials workstream on your deals: building models, drafting transaction documents, developing industry views, and supporting business development - all to a standard that can go directly in front of a client.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Information memoranda - structuring and drafting CIMs that present a business clearly and compellingly to a targeted buyer or investor universe
- Pitch books - building materials for new business, sector coverage, and transaction mandates in coordination with the senior team
- Valuation and financial models - trading and transaction comps, DCF, LBO screens, accretion/dilution, and deal-specific analyses
- Industry overviews and market newsletters - developing Novistra's sector intelligence across our coverage verticals for both internal use and external distribution
- Business development campaigns - supporting targeted outreach to new clients and counterparties, including research, buyer/seller/investor target list building, and materials preparation
- Deal execution support - coordinating due diligence, managing data rooms, preparing management presentation materials, and drafting deal documentation as transactions progress
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience and Background
- 1 to 4 years of experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate development, or private equity, with demonstrated exposure to transaction execution
- Prior experience working in smaller teams, with direct interaction with senior management and end clients - not just internal working groups
- Hands-on experience building financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction materials to a professional standard
- Awareness of M&A market trends and the ability to engage credibly on sector-specific dynamics is expected, not optional
- Prior coverage experience or meaningful knowledge in one or more of Novistra's focus sectors - Technology, Financial Institutions, Education, Healthcare, Media and Events, or Hospitality - is a significant advantage
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel: financial modelling, scenario analysis, and data manipulation without hand-holding
- Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint: building clean, structured, client-ready presentations from scratch
- Strong working knowledge of deal mechanics: valuation methodologies, due diligence processes, and transaction documentation
- Ability to analyse and synthesise information across industries quickly - Novistra operates across six sectors and analysts must get up to speed fast on each
- Digital and AI fluency is a meaningful advantage: candidates who are comfortable using AI tools for research, drafting, and analytical work - and who treat them as a standard part of the toolkit rather than a novelty - will find they can move faster and contribute more from the outset at Novistra
Attributes
- Precise communicator - written and verbal. You will draft materials that go to clients and counterparties; quality and accuracy are non-negotiable
- Highly organised and self-directed: able to manage multiple workstreams across deals, track deliverables without being chased, and flag issues before they become problems
- Strong work ethic and genuine attention to detail - the difference between good work and excellent work at this firm is usually in the details
- Enthusiastic about the work and eager to learn: cross-border M&A is intellectually demanding, and the analysts who do well here are the ones who find that energising rather than exhausting
- Comfortable operating at all levels of an organisation - with an MD in a client meeting and with a counterpart analyst on a data request on the same day
Digital and AI Fluency (Preferred)
- Familiarity with AI tools for research, drafting, and analysis is an advantage at Novistra, where the firm actively integrates AI into its workflow
- Comfort picking up new platforms and a bias toward working efficiently are both valued here
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Live transaction exposure from the outset. Novistra's deal teams are small and senior, which means analysts get genuine responsibility on mandates rather than being insulated from client interaction by layers of hierarchy. You will see how a deal is actually run - not a simulated version of it.
There is regular cross-office collaboration on transactions and the opportunity to develop a network across geographies and sectors over time.
The learning curve is real. The expectation is that you arrive with the technical foundation and the drive, and Novistra provides the deal flow, the mentorship, and the environment to develop quickly.
