Our client's business in Thailand primarily revolves around the sale, distribution, and service of material handling equipment, with a strong focus on electric forklifts and warehouse equipment.
For this IT automation engineer:
To optimize and streamline the production processes for our electrical forklift manufacturing facility.
This role is crucial for leveraging technology, particularly SQL databases and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), to drive efficiency, reduce downtime, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our production data and material flow. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between IT systems and manufacturing operations.
Job description
System Integration and Development:
- Design, develop, and implement automation scripts and solutions to integrate various manufacturing and supply chain systems, focusing heavily on the WMS and Production Execution System (PES).
- Develop and maintain robust SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers for data manipulation, reporting, and system interfacing.
- Configure and maintain the WMS rules engine to optimize material handling, sequencing, and inventory control on the production floor.
Process Optimization:
- Analyze existing electrical forklift production workflows to identify bottlenecks and areas where automation can improve speed, quality, and material traceability.
- Work directly with production, logistics, and quality control teams to gather requirements and translate operational needs into scalable automation solutions.
- Implement Real-Time Data Collection mechanisms from PLCs and production equipment into the WMS/PES via integration layers.
Maintenance and Support:
- Provide expert support and troubleshooting for all deployed automation tools, WMS interfaces, and SQL database performance issues affecting production.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and change logs.
- Monitor automated processes and data integrity, setting up alerts and dashboards to preemptively address potential issues.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Develop custom reports and dashboards using SQL to provide management with critical insights into production performance, inventory accuracy, and system efficiency.
