What You'll Do

  • Infrastructure & System Management: Oversee core IT services including Mailcow/Email Infrastructure, Keycloak/Identity & Access Management, Debian/Linux servers, Proxmox Virtualization Clusters, ticket/helpdesk management, and stakeholder communication; ensure OS/application/security updates, monitor performance/uptime/capacity/storage, implement backup/failover/disaster recovery, and maintain asset inventory/documentation/network maps/runbooks.
  • Security & Compliance: Maintain SSL/TLS certificates/domains/renewals with forward-looking calendar; configure firewalls/access controls/network segmentation; monitor vulnerabilities, apply security patches, enforce security policies/password standards/least-privilege access.
  • Planning & Operational Governance: Create Maintenance & Renewal Calendar for SSLs/licenses/domains/support contracts/updates; proactively communicate changes/risks/downtime; build SOPs/lifecycle plans; assess capacity and recommend scaling/modernization.
  • Team Leadership & Management: Manage IT support/engineering team, assign tasks/track performance; conduct weekly check-ins/progress reports to leadership; develop incident response/escalation paths; coach/upskill team members and promote responsibility/documentation culture.
  • Networking & Cloud Architecture: Optimize networking (routing/VLANs/VPN/DNS/load balancing/firewalls including FortiGate); support cloud/hybrid architectures with cloud backups; evaluate/implement scalability/resilience/security best practices.

What You Need

  • Required Experience: 2-3 years in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or operations; strong experience with Linux (Debian) and virtualization (Proxmox); solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DHCP, DNS, VPN, NAT, firewalls); experience managing identity systems (Keycloak, LDAP, SSO, MFA) and email platforms (Mailcow or similar); proven ability to plan/schedule/track maintenance/renewals; strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills; fluency in English
  • Leadership Skills: Leadership experience including task delegation, project oversight, team coordination.
  • Preferred Technical Skills: Experience with FortiGate/enterprise firewalls; familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OVH); knowledge of DevOps pipelines, monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix); experience in MSP/data center/high-availability environments; understanding of ISO 27001/security frameworks.
  • Soft Skills: Proactive, organized, deadline-driven; strong ownership/accountability; ability to translate technical issues into clear business updates.
  • Incident Management: Calm under pressure during incidents/outages; forward planner who prevents issues.
