- Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop strategic relationships with Tier 1 partners (EPCs, systemintegrators, contractors) who supply to utility projects (PEA,MEA,PPA)
- Drive sales growth by identifying and influencing project opportunities through the partner network rather than direct end-user sales
- Promote and position electrical protection relays, control components, and monitoring solutions to ensure spec-in at early project stages
- Engage and influence consultants, designers, and engineering teams to include products in technical specifications and project designs
- Support partners in tendering, bidding, and project execution by providing technical and commercial input
- Build strong pipeline by tracking upcoming utility projects and aligning closely with partners on opportunity development
- Act as a key liaison between partners, end-users, and internal technical teams to ensure solution alignment and successful delivery
- Develop account plans and joint strategies with Tier 1 partners to expand market share and win targeted projects
- Monitor market intelligence, competitor positioning, and regulatory developments within the utility sector
- Ensure customer and partner satisfaction through proactive follow-up, coordination, and after-sales support
A successful Key Account Manager - (Utility Project) should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in sales or key account management within utilities, electrical, or industrial sectors
- Proven experience working with utility authorities (e.g., PEA, MEA, PPA) or similar organizations
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems, protection relays, electrical components, or infrastructure solutions
- Experience handling project-based sales, tenders, and long sales cycles.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial acumen with the ability to drive revenue and close complex deals
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to position technical solutions (e.g., protection relays, monitoring devices, electrical testing systems) to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strategic thinking with strong pipeline and account planning capability
- Self-driven, proactive, and results-oriented mindset
