We're looking for a Lead AI Engineer to drive the design and delivery of next-generation AI products, with a strong focus on LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and scalable cloud-based systems.
This role combines hands-on engineering, architecture ownership, and team leadership, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building production-grade AI systems end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML systems, particularly LLM-powered applications
- Architect and implement RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector search, and knowledge retrieval systems
- Build and scale backend services (Node.js / TypeScript) to support AI-driven products
- Collaborate with frontend teams using React.js / modern frameworks for AI feature integration
- Design cloud-native solutions (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with a focus on scalability and reliability
- Own system architecture, ensuring performance, cost-efficiency, and maintainability
- Mentor and lead a team of engineers; drive best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment
- Work cross-functionally with product, data, and business teams to translate requirements into AI solutions
- Stay up to date with advancements in Generative AI, LLMs, and agent-based systems
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with recent focus on AI/ML systems
- Proven experience building and deploying LLM-based applications (e.g., GPT, open-source LLMs)
- Strong hands-on experience with RAG architectures, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS)
- Solid backend engineering experience with Node.js / TypeScript
- Experience integrating or working alongside React.js frontends
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and microservices architecture
- Deep understanding of system design, APIs, and scalable distributed systems
- Prior experience in a technical leadership or team lead role
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in an international environment
- Strong preference for individuals who build projects or code in their spare time (side projects, GitHub, personal apps)
- Seeking hands-on builders, not just theoretical or academic profiles
