Role Summary:

Application support engineer is a support role who is responsible for providing suggestions and consultancy to both internal and external clients in areas where technical expertise is required by non-technical role. We investigate root of issue, incident and technical query to bring the best solution to ensure ongoing service of our system. We provide support and deliver works to help improve the development team by taking on issues and queries which interfere in development's working cycle.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and self-disciplined candidate interested in working with our multinational teams while offering a chance to develop your skills in many areas.

Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

  • Analyses technical problems of high complexity. Assesses scope of impact and provide suggestion to mitigates the problem.
  • Conducts root cause analysis in correlation with multiple related system. Identifies options for workaround to resolve critical problems. Recommended service improvement to relevant team to prevent future occurrences.
  • Customers and service focused, with determination to meet their needs and expectations
  • Participate in service recovery call and provide immediate technical assistance for major service outage and aim to rectify and recover the service the soonest.
  • Ensure overall services stability. Automate monitoring process and perform service recovery when necessary.
  • Guide recommendation to improve services. Reduce all manual and repetitive task by aiming to automate everywhere possible.
  • Document and sustain team's knowledge. Learn and understanding of service workflow end to end, tooling, for monitor services and investigate problems.
  • Collaborate closely with development team, products management team, and other related parties to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Flexible working hour and provide on-call support during weekend. Sometime require working outside normal working hour, to collaborate with colleagues in other time zone to mitigate the critical service problems.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technologies or related field
  • Experienced in a role which requires high problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experienced with AWS Cloud services such as EC2/ECS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, OpenSearch
  • Familiarity with AWS CloudWatch for investigating issues, monitoring dashboards, and alarms
  • General understanding of Database and SQL
  • Have a good understanding of REST API and OpenAPI Specification.
  • Scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, or other languages
  • Good interpersonal and proficient in English communication
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work under tight time constraints.
  • Eager to learn new technologies. Always looking for improvement opportunities and open for changes.
  • Self-driven and able to work both independently and in collaboration with other technologists at all levels

Desired Experience:

  • ITIL knowledge
  • CI/CD knowledge, understanding on Jenkin, GitLab, GitHub
  • Experience working with microservices architectures, event/message driven system.
  • Hand-on Unix/Linux/Sun Solaris skill and shell programming
