Lead Business Analyst

We are looking for a Lead Business Analyst who can act as a strategic partner to business, product, sales, operations, and leadership teams by converting complex business problems and data into clear insights, actionable recommendations, and measurable business outcomes.

This role goes beyond dashboarding and reporting. The ideal candidate should be able to independently identify business opportunities, define key metrics, structure ambiguous problems, influence decision-making, and drive data-backed business improvements across functions.

The candidate should have strong analytical thinking, hands-on experience with data and BI tools, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to translate business priorities into scalable analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with business, product, sales, operations, and leadership teams to understand business priorities, define problem statements, and identify high-impact analytics opportunities.

Lead analysis of large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, gaps, risks, and growth opportunities.

Own and improve key business metrics across functions by defining, tracking, and interpreting performance indicators.

Build, maintain, and improve dashboards, reports, and data visualisations for business tracking, leadership reviews, and strategic decision-making.

Conduct deep-dive analyses to solve complex business problems and provide clear, actionable recommendations.

Translate business questions into analytical frameworks, hypotheses, metrics, and data-driven insights.

Partner with leadership and functional teams to influence decisions through structured analysis and business storytelling.

Identify data gaps, reporting inefficiencies, and metric inconsistencies, and work with relevant teams to resolve them.

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, quality, and reliability across dashboards, reports, and business reviews.

Automate recurring reports and improve reporting efficiency to reduce manual effort.

Partner with data engineering, tech, and product teams to improve data pipelines, data availability, event tracking, and reporting structures.

Mentor or guide junior analysts where required and help improve the overall analytics maturity of the team.

Present insights and recommendations in a clear, structured, and business-friendly manner to senior stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

5–9 years of experience in business analytics, data analytics, product analytics, growth analytics, or a similar role.

Strong hands-on experience with BI/dashboarding tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Metabase, Redash, or similar tools.

Strong working knowledge of SQL and experience working with large and complex datasets.

Strong working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets.

Experience with data analysis using Python or R is preferred.

Strong understanding of business metrics, funnel analysis, cohort analysis, customer/product performance tracking, and revenue/business performance metrics.

Ability to independently structure ambiguous business problems and convert them into analytical solutions.

Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and business judgment.

Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work closely with senior business and leadership teams.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

High ownership, attention to detail, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in edtech, SaaS, consumer internet, marketplace, fintech, or high-growth startups.

Experience working closely with product, sales, marketing, operations, or growth teams.

Knowledge of statistical analysis, experimentation, A/B testing, forecasting, or business modelling.

Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data pipelines, and event tracking.

Prior experience mentoring analysts or leading analytics projects is preferred.
