Job Description
As a
Legal Adviser, you are expected to undertake the following activities and tasks:
- Provide legal advice regarding corporate and commercial issues, including in respect of foreign direct investments into Thailand. This may include due diligence, research, drafting and negotiating agreements and liaising directly with clients
- Assist with company formations, BOI applications and related matters
- Provide legal advice regarding foreign investment laws, establishment of business, business operations and general corporate compliance matters in Thailand
- Prepare applications and supporting documents for submission of various applications (including licensing applications) to the relevant governmental agencies (Ministry of Commerce, Board of Investment, Bank of Thailand, Securities Exchange Commission, Department of Industrial Works and others)
- Liaise with the relevant governmental agencies for the purpose of preparation of applications and post-submission follow-up; coordination with the team and client regarding application progress
- Research and investigate with governmental agencies on corporate, regulatory and compliance matters
- Provide any other general legal assistance to other lawyers and teams and perform other tasks associated with the foregoing
Requirements
Essential skills & experience:
- Bachelor degree of laws (LL.B.) and preferably a Master of laws (LL.M.);
- 3 - 6 years of experience as a corporate commercial lawyer focusing on company formulation, investment structuring advice, BOI and FBL related works, and any sectoral licensing experiences;
- Qualified Thai lawyer with exceptional academic records;
- Proficient in both spoken and written English;
- Strong practical knowledge of the Thai legal system;
- Able to work under pressure and time constraint;
- Be an enthusiastic person and effective team member; and
- The position will be based in Bangkok and may require occasional travel trips
