We are looking for a graduate or junior lawyer who will be focused on providing Thai legal advice, with some regional work across Asia (8-10 countries). You will be advising on corporate, commercial, labour, regulatory & compliance as well as dispute resolution and other legal matters. You will be involved in several M&A transactions. You will be a member of a team of five lawyers with excellent support and training.
To work in-house you will have a genuine curiosity for business, an aptitude for listening and assessing and a willingness to explore commercial and legal matters in depth.
Key responsibilities:
- Report directly to General Counsel
- Provide legal support and advice to internal stakeholders on relevant legal issues.
- Draft and review legal documents such as contracts, statements, letters that minimise risks and maximise legal rights.
- Deal with complex, significant matters that cut across legal and related areas.
- Keep abreast of legislative changes.
- Base your decision-making process on ethics and integrity.
- Create associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders.
- Deal with external parties (regulators, external counsel, politicians, clients).
Qualifications:
- LL. B and/or LL.M degree (or other master's degree).
- Lawyer's License preferable.
- 0-3 years of experience in law firm or in-house.
- Broad legal knowledge (corporate & commercial law, litigation, labour law, etc.)
- Understanding of how legal issues affect business plus the ability to assist in the development of legal strategy and objectives.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal with a wide range of stakeholders and team members in Thailand and overseas.
- Professionalism and credibility internally and externally.
- Capacity to think strategically, logically, and independently under stressful and often demanding situations are essential for this challenging position.
