Legal Manager (Law Firm Background Required)

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Contracts & Legal Documentation

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements and legal documents.
  • Support contract lifecycle management and ensure legal documentation aligns with business requirements and risk management standards.
  • Maintain and update standard contract templates and legal documentation frameworks.

Corporate Governance & Compliance

  • Support corporate governance activities, including preparation of corporate records, resolutions, and regulatory filings.
  • Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments and assess potential business impact.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.

Legal Advisory & Business Partnership

  • Provide practical legal advice to cross-functional teams across commercial, operational, and support functions.
  • Support strategic initiatives, projects, and business transactions from a legal and compliance perspective.
  • Manage relationships with external legal advisors and service providers when required.
  • Act as a key legal contact for regulatory matters and official inquiries.

Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and compliance risks across business activities.
  • Support internal reviews, audits, and risk assessment initiatives.
  • Recommend risk mitigation measures and process improvements to strengthen governance practices.

Disputes & Legal Matters

  • Assist in the management of disputes, claims, and legal proceedings.
  • Coordinate with external counsel and internal stakeholders on legal matters.
  • Prepare summaries, reports, and recommendations for management as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of legal experience gained in-house and/or private practice.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
