Job Description
- Serve as the primary legal advisor for the Thailand business across commercial, regulatory, corporate governance, and compliance matters.
- Provide legal consultation and proactively manage legal and projectrelated risks.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of commercial contracts, including those with private and public sectors.
- Ensure all agreements align with company policies, risk thresholds, and applicable laws.
- Support local regulatory affairs teams, including matters involving public sector registration and government entities.
- Monitor compliance with local laws such as data privacy, competition law, labor law, and sectorspecific regulations.
- Develop, update, and enforce internal legal policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Coordinate the work of external legal firm ensuring quality and costeffective outcomes.
- Advise stakeholders across sales, service engineering, regulatory, and other business units on complex legal challenges.
- Engage with senior-level stakeholders and support decision-making through clear, practical legal recommendations.
- Oversee litigation, disputes, and legal investigations when required.
- Supervise and coach subordinate lawyer, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of legal documents.
- Collaborate with regional APAC legal teams and report to regional leadership in a matrix structure.
- Deliver results within tight timelines and demonstrate ownership and accountability for legal outcomes.
- Maintain strong understanding of Thai healthcare regulations and industry-specific requirements.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Legal Manager should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) or higher; licensed lawyer and notarial certification preferred.
- 7-15 years of legal experience in corporate or commercial law, with at least 3 years in a multinational environment; healthcare/medical device background strongly preferred.
- Strong expertise in drafting and negotiating complex agreements, including sales, distribution, licensing, and government contracts.
- Fluent in Thai and English, with strong communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders.
- Leadership ability with a proactive, business-partner mindset and capability to manage high-pressure timelines.
