[LTA-DPO] SENIOR DEVELOPER, AI APPLICATIONS (DIGITAL SHOPFRONT)

Powered by AI, it will thoughtfully augment how digital services are designed, delivered and experienced, creating the next-generation platform that keeps your world moving.

As Senior Developer, AI Applications, you will design and build the AI features that make the platform intelligent, and the backend integrations that bridge data insights from across many backend systems. You will turn AI concepts into reliable products that work in production.

What you will be working on

What You'll Do

• Build secure integrations: Design and implement well-defined API connections to data vaults and legacy systems. Apply suitable authentication, caching and error-handling patterns to make older systems safe and reliable for modern use.

• Embed AI in applications: Design the AI-assisted components that help turn plain-language descriptions into digital touchpoints, workflows, and configurable services.

• Engineer the retrieval layer: Design how the platform retrieves and grounds information for AI features, including embeddings, semantic search, and retrieval pipelines. Ensure AI responses are accurate, explainable, and useful.

• Review vendor AI approaches: Enforce the engineering bar for vendor-delivered AI applications. Review pull requests, AI pipelines, and guardrails, and work with the engineering team to ensure accuracy, security, and maintainability are upheld.

• Make AI reliable in production: Build monitoring, evaluation, and guardrails around AI features. Build stakeholder confidence by detecting model underperformance, validating outputs, and designing graceful fallbacks when AI cannot provide a reliable answer.

• Work across the platform: Partner with technical teammates to ensure AI features and backend integrations fit cleanly into the wider architecture and system design.

• Own your features end to end: Track how features perform after launch. Use usage data to refine the AI pipeline until they deliver meaningful value for users.

What we are looking for

About You

• You have 5+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer, including at least 2 years building applied AI features used by real users.

• You have hands-on experience with LLM APIs, including prompt design, semantic search, function calling, and structured output parsing.

• You understand retrieval-augmented generation concepts. You know when retrieval is the right solution and when it is not, and how to improve context accuracy.

• You treat AI safety and reliability as core engineering work. Hallucination handling, output validation, evaluation, and graceful degradation are built into how you work.

• You can navigate a full-stack development environment in Python alongside a modern frontend framework. You are comfortable working with developers to embed AI in systems.

• You understand how systems talk to each other. You can confidently work with middleware and API gateways to wrap legacy systems safely for modern consumption.

• You have solid application security foundations, including compliance, OWASP, and zero-trust secure application design. You build with security in mind from the start.

• You are comfortable turning rough product ideas into technical designs. You do not settle and keep improving the system until you would trust the result yourself.

• Prior experience in the Singapore public sector or highly regulated environments and familiarity with enterprise platform / product delivery at scale will be an advantage.
