Job Summary
Coordinate and manage mechanical and electrical (M&E) works by liaising with consultants, clients, and sub-contractors, preparing technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with project standards from initiation to completion.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, and sub-contractors to monitor and report on the progress of M&E works
- Prepare method statements, shop drawings, sample units, testing and commissioning (T&C) sheets, and work progress reports for M&E projects
- Design equipment systems including Air Handling Units, Computer Room Air Handling Units, Cooling Towers, Chillers, Sequence of Operations, Control Systems, and Fire Detection/Suppression systems
- Manage the preparation, submission, and review of shop drawings and material samples with sub-contractors and consultants
- Prepare and verify technical submissions to resolve site and drawing issues promptly
- Develop and maintain site mechanical procedures such as Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Method of Procedures (MOPs), and Approval Procedures (APs) aligned with client standards
- Assist the Technical Manager and Project Director in addressing all M&E issues, including preparing M&E master schedules and T&C schedules
- Organize and oversee M&E progress inspections (e.g., R1, Fire Audit), audit documentation, resource allocation, and coordination from project start to completion
Required competencies and certifications
- Specialist Diploma in M&E Coordination with BCA certification or Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of relevant construction industry experience, preferably on LTA or PUB projects
