  • Work with the Head of Property & Casualty, Head of Major Account Division, Head of Small & Medium Division to define and execute financial objectives for the casualty portfolio.
  • Develop a full understanding of each of the distribution channels, and their business needs. Benchmark Chubb against the competitor offerings and positioning.
  • Manage the casualty book of business and ensure the portfolio underwriting integrity of the P&L, combined ratio targets, GWP/NWP goals, development of risk selection and underwriting standards. Execute on portfolio review action items, UW Audit process and related operations.
  • Communicate with Casualty Regional Underwriter/Manager and other management regarding underwriting and financial performance, including all reports. Ensure underwriting discipline and controls are in place and are being followed (managing underwriting authorities, referrals, peer reviews, etc) with assistance from regional team. This includes all aspects of Multinational Business.
  • Relationship management with brokers, and ability to work with distributions to achieve our annual and rolling 5-year goals.
  • Product development – Understand the needs of different distributions and segments to continue to develop Chubb's product offering in the regions
  • Claims – Work closely with the Claims team to increase understanding of clients and portfolios.
  • Risk Engineering – Regular communication with Regional Risk Engineering Manager to ensure that engineering fits the needs of the business and that they understand the overall objectives
  • Operations & Credit Control – work closely with Operations and Credit Control to ensure that we deliver the following in a timely manner: quotes, cover notes, policies, invoices, booking of premium.
  • Legal & Compliance – work closely with Legal and Compliance on wording and also to ensure that we are compliant at all times. Manage all requirements from Thailand's Office of Insurance Commissioner (OIC) related to casualty, such as product filings, reports, claims, compliance, etc.
  • Performance and Talent Management – Provide feedback to P&C Managers on the performance of the Casualty UW's around their respective roles. Ensure that the team understand annual objectives and expected deliverables, have clear goals, receive on-going feedback and are adequately performance managed. Ensure that we have the right talent on board and succession plan in place for Country Line Managers and Regional roles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in business or related field
  • Years of experience: 10years working experience in insurance business
  • Underwriting / marketing proficiency in commercial product lines gained through at least two of the following areas: underwriting / marketing, sales/ marketing, product management, and claims and /or risk assessment.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities: Thailand Casualty Business, Excel, Power Point, Excel, underwriting rating tools, and/or other relevant software applications
  • Capability to work independently and Willingness to work within a high-performance team.
  • Superior communications and interpersonal skills to be capable of dealing with producers, customers and all levels of the organization in Thai and English.
