Position: Manager - Facilities Maintenance

Position Reports to: General Manager

Department: Administration

Location: Surat Thani, Thailand

General Summary of Position

The Manager Facilities is responsible for overseeing and maintaining overall cleanliness, orderliness, safety, and compliance of all manufacturing and administrative facilities.

This includes production areas, equipment zones, office buildings, exterior grounds, and common areas.

The role ensures that the factory environment meets all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and reflects the company's commitment to quality, safety, and professional corporate image.

The GMP Manager plays a key leadership role in developing, implementing, and monitoring GMP protocols, ensuring employees follow proper hygiene practices, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and contamination-prevention measures such as gowning, hair covering, gloves, and appropriate footwear.

The position is also responsible for improving plant conditions, safety practices, and the overall brand image of the organization.

This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional departments such as Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Human Resources, and Corporate Communications.

Responsibilities & Specific Accountabilities

GMP System Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's GMP framework, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP standards across all production and non-production areas.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits of manufacturing lines, warehouses, laboratories, utilities, and common areas to identify gaps or nonconformance.

Facility & Workplace Hygiene Oversight.

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of production floors, machines, equipment areas, storage zones, and utility systems.
  • Supervise cleaning protocols and maintain schedules for daily, weekly, and deep-cleaning activities.
  • Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to ensure work areas remain safe, tidy, and operationally efficient.

Personal Hygiene & PPE Compliance

  • Oversee implementation of proper contamination-control measures, including gowning, hair covering, gloves, protective footwear, and sanitization procedures.
  • Monitor employee compliance with hygiene standards and conduct training when needed.
  • Ensure easy access to PPE and maintain adequate inventory levels.

Safety & Environmental Control

  • Ensure that all GMP and workplace safety standards are consistently followed.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with the Safety Officer/Manager to align GMP practices with occupational health and safety requirements.

Corporate Image & Facility Presentation

  • Manage and enhance the professional appearance of office areas, conference rooms, outdoor areas, and building exteriors.
  • Support corporate branding efforts by ensuring a consistent and professional look across all facilities.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Communications on campaigns related to workplace discipline, cleanliness, and organizational image.

Training & Employee Engagement

  • Develop and deliver GMP training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Build awareness and cultivate a culture of cleanliness, safety, and GMP discipline across the organization.
  • Lead improvement projects and cross-functional teams.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare regular GMP audit reports, improvement plans, and compliance scorecards.
  • Document key findings, corrective actions, and progress updates.
  • Report major issues or risks to senior management.

Key Position Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, or related fields.
  • In case of education degree/field does not match with above requirement, relevant proven experience within LifeStyles or related manufacturing such as rubber or medical device products could be considered.

Job Experience

  • Minimum 58 years of experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in GMP-regulated industries such as food, pharmaceutical, chemical, or medical devices.
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Hands-on experience in facility hygiene, quality systems, auditing, or safety management.

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of contamination control, hygiene standards, and environmental monitoring. Familiarity with safety regulations, PPE requirements, and risk-assessment methodologies.
  • Understanding of production processes and factory operations.
  • Knowledge of corporate branding or facility presentation is beneficial.

Additional Requirements (Travel etc.)

  • Job mobile and travelling for meeting with manufacturing plants, stakeholders, or carrying out new process in the plant.
