Role Overview
As the Manager, Finance & Business Support, you will lead the financial set-up and ongoing financial operations of the hotel's pre-opening and opening phases. You will be responsible for establishing sound financial controls, ensuring compliance with IHG standards and local statutory requirements, and providing commercial insights that support business decisions.
This role is a key member of the hotel's pre-opening leadership team, partnering with the General Manager to build a financially disciplined and commercially successful hotel while supporting the Holiday Inn Express brand promise of delivering smart, simple, and efficient hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-opening Leadership
- Lead all finance-related pre-opening activities, ensuring readiness for hotel opening.
- Establish accounting policies, financial controls, and reporting processes in line with IHG Finance Standards.
- Support the preparation and monitoring of the pre-opening budget.
- Coordinate the implementation and testing of finance systems, PMS, POS, procurement, banking, and payroll interfaces.
- Support procurement and asset management activities to ensure compliance and financial governance.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Prepare annual operating budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial projections.
- Monitor hotel performance against budget and provide timely variance analysis.
- Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Partner with department heads to improve productivity and cost efficiency.
- Provide commercial analysis supporting revenue and profitability initiatives.
Financial Operations
- Oversee all accounting functions including:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Income Audit
- Cash Management
- Payroll coordination
- Ensure accurate month-end closing and financial reporting.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
Business Support
- Act as a strategic business partner to the General Manager.
- Support operational leaders with financial analysis and decision-making.
- Drive cost management initiatives while maintaining guest experience.
- Promote a culture of financial accountability across all departments.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with:
- IHG finance policies
- Local accounting regulations
- Tax legislation
- Internal audit requirements
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Ensure statutory reporting is completed accurately and on time.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Support payroll processing and ensure payroll controls are in place.
- Monitor payroll costs against approved budgets.
- Ensure statutory deductions and employee-related financial obligations are managed accurately.
People Leadership
- Recruit, develop, and coach the Finance team.
- Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability and continuous improvement.
- Build capability through training and succession planning.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive finance experience within hospitality.
- Previous experience as Finance Manager, Assistant Director of Finance, or equivalent.
- Pre-opening experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of hotel financial systems (SUN, Opera PMS, procurement and payroll systems preferred).
- Knowledge of Thai statutory and tax regulations is an advantage.
