Position: Manager - Purchase
Position Reports to: Senior Manager - Supply

Location: Surat Thani, Thailand
General Summary of Position
Manager Purchasing is responsible for Identifying lowest cost suppliers with considerations toward quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
They lead the purchasing Team in creating orders, expediting delivery and shipment as required to support the manufacturing production schedules and plant sales goals, research and recommend potential vendors, analyze quotations received and negotiate final pricing in support of company strategic procurement strategies and plans.
Responsibilities & Specific Accountabilities
- Selecting vendors, assessing vendor capabilities, developing alternative sources, and evaluating performance.
- Negotiating price and delivery of commodities, supplies, equipment, and services.
- Assuring that purchases are followed up and expedited when required.
- Making certain that purchase documents are properly completed, and the terms and conditions of purchase are appropriate.
- Developing long and shortrange operating objectives, organizational structure, and staffing requirements including employee development.
- Maintaining departmental communication with all levels of management and subcontractor.
- Perform supply planning functions, analyze existing inventory in addition to actual and anticipated material requirements to ensure on time delivery of all products.
- Understand, follow and promote required purchasing procedures and requirements.
- Review, analyze and resolve any pricing, invoicing or receiving issues.
- Work with Product Development, Engineering and Operations to understand and resolve material requirements for new and existing products.
- Secure and analyze quotations; and terms with suppliers and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery.
- Balance and coordinate delivery of materials to ensure on-time delivery while maintaining a level delivery schedule.
- Perform all required supply planning functions; analyze existing inventory levels as well as actual and anticipated material requirements to ensure on-time delivery of all materials.
- Responsible for contacting supplier when non-conforming materials being found, ask supplier for replacement and coordinating with store to have rejected materials to be returned to supplier.
- Responsible for retaining accurate documents, purchase traceability, trouble notice and so on to superior and supplier.
- To generate the contract according to the sanction and purchase requisition.
- Ensure all practices are compliance with procedures.
- Maintain compliance with all internal and external EHS rules, regulations and other Risk Management requirements.
- Other duties as directed by Superior.
Key Position Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Marketing, Business Management or relevant.
- In case of education degree/field does not match with above requirement, relevant proven experience within LifeStyles or related manufacturing such as rubber or medical device products could be considered.
Job Experience
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in manufacturing or procurement or material management.
- Experience with and understanding of Material Requirements Planning systems.
- Experience negotiating contractual items with suppliers.

- Negotiation and persuasion skills to find the best deals.
- Computer skills on Microsoft word, excel or able to use ERP is advantage.
- Understand and ability to apply DMAIC Root Cause Analysis Principles, Lean Manufacturing Methodologies and JIT concepts.
- Self-confidence and interpersonal skills.
- Must be good with mathematics and can compare quantities and prices from different sources include calculate weight or volume of shipment.
- Be able to carefully analyze the advantages and disadvantages of different vendors and contract terms.
- Working process and system understanding is advantage.
