Summary of responsibilities:
Responsible for the perfect functioning and maintenance of the mechanical equipment located at the Xayaburi project,
The position covers mechanical systems, including, but not limited to:
Turbine & Power Generation Systems
- Kaplan turbines: 7 × 175 MW + 1 × 65 MW
- Generators, bearings, high-pressure systems
- Lubrication systems and turbine auxiliaries
Auxiliary & Common Systems
- HVAC and AHU systems (powerhouse and external facilities)
- Potable water systems (inside and outside powerhouse)
- Drainage and dewatering systems
- Compressed air systems
- Cooling water systems
- Wastewater systems, elevators, diesel generators, transformers, and discharge systems
Pump Stations
- Water pumps (4 + 3 units)
- Drainage and dewatering systems
- BOP related to fish-passing facilities
Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Reliability
- Develop and implement, in coordination with the Senior/Chief Engineer – Generating Facilities Maintenance,
a state-of-the-art mechanical maintenance strategy
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of all mechanical assets
- Supervise and control the quality of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Participate in on-call duty and support emergency maintenance when required
Planning & CMMS
- Support Planning Engineers in establishing and maintaining the CMMS master maintenance database
- Prepare and execute contractually binding maintenance programs in line with PPA and CA obligations (EGAT, EDL, GOL)
- Monitor maintenance execution with respect to schedule, manpower, materials, and spare-part consumption
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, train, and supervise mechanical maintenance personnel
- Develop a section roadmap, define individual responsibilities, KPIs, and follow-up mechanisms
- Promote knowledge sharing, accountability, and continuous skill development
- Foster a strong safety culture within the team
Budget, Spares & Contract Management
- Support the Department Manager in OPEX/CAPEX budget preparation
- Ensure critical spare parts and consumables are adequately stocked and available
- Prepare Terms of Reference (TOR) for outsourced maintenance works and follow up on execution and quality
- Propose improvement initiatives related to performance, efficiency, and asset management
Safety, Quality & Environment
- Ensure compliance with:
- ISO 9001 – Quality Management
- ISO 14001 – Environmental Management
- ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety
- Actively integrate environmental and safety considerations into all maintenance activities
- Develop procedures and enforce safe working practices
Additional Duties
- Participate in maintenance activities during outages or normal operation when required
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or in accordance with company policy
Qualifications:
▪ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
▪ At least 10 years experience in similar positions
▪ Proven experience in O&M environments, including turbine maintenance, BOP
systems, and outage execution major equipment
▪ Power plant mechanical systems, maintenance strategies, and equipment theory
▪ Preventive, Corrective, Predictive Maintenance (PM, CM, PdM)
▪ Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
▪ CMMS-based maintenance planning and execution
▪ Ability to read and interpret drawings, manuals, and technical specifications
▪ Strong leadership, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration
▪ Establish, monitor, and evaluate section KPIs and performance indicators, ensuring
alignment with departmental objectives, plant reliability targets, and continuous
improvement requirements.
