Role Description The Mandarin Teacher will deliver engaging, learner-centered online Mandarin lessons to students across different age groups and proficiency levels in a remote setting. This role includes planning and preparing lesson materials aligned with LingoAce's curriculum, facilitating live classes, and adapting teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs and goals. The teacher will assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, and regular feedback, and maintain accurate records of attendance and performance. The Mandarin Teacher will also communicate with caregivers or adult learners as needed, collaborate with internal academic teams to improve teaching materials, and participate in ongoing training to stay current with best practices in online language education. This is a remote role, allowing flexibility in geographic location while maintaining consistent availability based on scheduled class times.

Qualifications

  • Strong Mandarin language proficiency, including excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills, and the ability to explain grammar and vocabulary clearly.
  • Experience in teaching Mandarin as a second or foreign language, with knowledge of age-appropriate instructional strategies and classroom management in an online environment.
  • Comfort with education technology platforms, digital teaching tools, and virtual classroom software, with the ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage learners of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and provide constructive feedback.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Linguistics, Chinese Language, or a related field; relevant teaching certifications (e.g., TCSOL, teaching license) are a strong plus.
  • Reliable internet connection and suitable home teaching environment for delivering professional, uninterrupted online classes.
  • Flexibility to work across different time zones and a commitment to punctuality, professionalism, and continuous improvement in teaching practice.
