Job Summary
The Market Development Manager (MDM) develops the market and promotes WACKER's offerings to customers (distributors) in Thailand. He/She is responsible for gathering market information which includes customer insights, trends, market movements, and communicating to the business. He/She is the key person to bridge the communication between the customer, distributors, and the company to provide accurate information and to obtain customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Takes ownership of the assigned business fields in Thailand in alignment with the Sales Directors and Business Team. Major product ranges are Construction Sealants, Adhesives, and Raw Materials
- Achieve business targets assigned
- Comply with job standards E.g. Regular and frequent visits to customers, Visit reports to be keyed in Salesforce, Ensuring accurate and clear documentation of monthly sales-related reports and any other ad-hoc reports
- Consistently offer services to current customers and actively seek new accounts within your area of responsibility
- Provide technical advice for standard or other inquiries or refer to the technical team where necessary
- Process customer complaints by following guidelines/parameters and resolve them based on the customers and business's satisfaction
- Business planning and local sales forecasting
- Monitor customer receivables and credit limits
- Collect, analyze, and present customer, market, industry trends, and competitor information/ data
- Develop and implement country-specific business strategies and align with the team
- Identify and assess potential new distribution channels in line with business and logistic strategies
- Lead, guide, and support local distributors; ensuring regular and frequent business and customer contacts
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all members of the Customer Team including Customer Service Representatives (CSR), Technical Manager, Marketing Manager, Sales Director, and others
- Observe and comply with the basic rules laid down in the management systems used by local entities and Divisions/Business Units (BU)/BT e.g. Internal Management Systems (IMS), Staff handbook, Antitrust, Code of conduct
- Ensure that travel plans and appointment schedules adhere to the cost-benefit principle
Job Requirements
- BSc in Construction/Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Chemical or any relevant subject area
- Minimum 5 Years of Sales experience, ideally within a B2C Construction Material environment
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, preferably sealants or adhesives
- Experienced in enabling projects business, by interacting with influencers (I.e. Architects, Faade consultants, Consultants, Fabricators, other intermediate and specifiers
- Understanding of working with or managing distributors and distribution channels, logistical and supply chain processes is an advantage
- Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into selling features and benefits
- Experience working in a multinational company would be preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel within Thailand
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be self-motivated with strong decision-making capabilities
- Strong business acumen and preferably a good understanding of cross-functional cooperation
- Sound negotiation experience and customer orientation skills
- Good IT knowledge (MS Windows, MS Office, SAP, Salesforce etc.)
