Position Overview:

As a Marketing Assistant Intern, you will support the growth and outreach efforts of Nikkei BizRuptors by working closely with our small, collaborative team to identify and engage university professors across Asia. Your responsibilities include sourcing academic contacts, compiling outreach lists, and assisting with the drafting and distribution of outreach emails and e-letters. You will report to the Marketing, Sales & Customer Relations Specialist and are expected to provide prompt updates upon completing tasks, especially those assigned by the Managing Director.

You will also contribute to strengthening our marketing presence by supporting the creation and scheduling of social media content across platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn.

Because this is a relatively new and evolving project, we approach our work with a learning mindset. We believe that learning goes both ways, and we value the fresh ideas and insights our interns bring to the team. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in business education, marketing, communications, or regional engagement, and offers a unique opportunity to take part in meaningful academic-industry collaboration across Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct online research to identify target universities and retrieve contact information (especially email addresses) of business school professors through faculty directories and public sources.
  • Draft, personalize, and send professional outreach emails to professors and institutional contacts using standardized email templates.
  • Maintain and update lead generation records, including tracking engagement and follow-ups using spreadsheets or CRM tools.
  • Assist in drafting and formatting e-letters, outreach materials, and follow-up messages.
  • Coordinate with the team to support scheduling of introductory meetings and market research interviews with professors.
  • Post twice a week social media posts and produce social media content on both Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Assist with other tasks or ad hoc projects as assigned by the Marketing, Sales & Customer Relations Specialist and Managing Director.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and proactive attitude.
  • Versatility and enthusiasm for handling a variety of tasks.
  • Strong written communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to deconstruct and interpret complex information.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent online research skills and outreach.
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines.
  • Customer service mindset with a professional and empathetic communication style, especially when engaging with professors and clients.
  • Background or interest in social media marketing, higher education, business, or academic publishing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, LinkedIn, Canva, and Figma
