Position Summary: As a key member of the engineering team, this position will report to the Piping Manager and will be responsible for the design of pressure parts associated with Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs). ASME Section I, B31.1, and Section VIII calculations will be performed for piping, drums, pressure vessels, and heat transfer modules. Pressure part fatigue and creep calculations will be performed per EN code. The Mechanical Engineer will propose design modifications when required. The Mechanical Engineer is expected to act in accordance with our guiding principles and core values Essential Responsibilities:
- Review contract specifications and develop the design in accordance with these requirements, while conforming to company standards.
- Run ASME pressure part code calculations to ensure that all pressure retaining components of the heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) meet code requirements.
- Prepare, or coordinate with other department specialty engineers, all calculations in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
- Participate in engineering project team meetings to review the progress against the management plan and discuss potential delays.
- Review and respond to customer and sub-vendor comments.
- Notify the Project Engineer of contract changes that result in price additions or deducts.
Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
- Works well in a multidisciplinary, fast paced team environment
- 5+ years of directly related experience in pressure part calculations, e.g., drums, vessels, and/or piping, and ASME/EN Codes.
- Experience with HRSGs, boilers, and other heat recovery products preferred
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Office products
