Job Summary

BDC is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to lead the assigned maintenance activities, monitoring performance and carrying out repairs and troubleshooting to ensure work in a critical environment is completed efficiently with minimal impact to customers. Responsible for the daily maintenance and inspection of assigned critical systems, including mechanical systems (HVAC, CRAC units, chillers, plumbing) and electrical systems (UPS, DC battery systems, PDUs, generators, transfer switches, and switchgear).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain mechanical system architectures, sequences of operation, and accurate as-built documentation.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for mechanical systems, providing technical recommendations to ensure design intent and operational readiness.
  • Lead system integration, testing, commissioning, and improvement activities for new and existing facilities.
  • Supervise day-to-day maintenance and inspection of critical mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, chillers, UPS, generators, and switchgear.
  • Lead assigned maintenance tasks, perform troubleshooting, and ensure minimal impact to operations and customers.
  • Oversee vendor and OEM maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with approved method statements and signing off completed works.
  • Manage Change Control processes, including corrective, preventive, and modification works, in accordance with SOPs and safety requirements.
  • Provide onsite technical support, guide root cause analysis, and support first-level fault diagnosis with vendors.
  • Deliver on-the-job training and technical guidance to engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with customer SLAs, including incident escalation, reporting timelines, and work order management.
  • Monitor critical spare parts, tools, and inventory levels to support continuous operations.
  • Enforce safety programs, PPE compliance, and regulatory requirements, escalating any risks or discrepancies to management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering field with min. 4 years of relevant work experience in Data Centre environment or Hi-tech factory/plant (e.g., semi-conductor).
  • Technical knowledge with hands on knowledge/experience and understanding of critical data center systems, focusing mainly on electrical systems, including and not limited to HVAC, Standby emergency power, uninterruptible power supplies, and associated infrastructure.
  • Proficient in computer applications and software, including commercial computerized maintenance management systems, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Requires working out of office hours as technical support, 24/7 support to site operation team. To be onsite for incident support.
  • Good proficiency in English and Thai
  • Good knowledge of all laws that govern building management and maintenance, including building safety, emergency evacuation and environment protection.
