Merchandise Budget Control Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Budget Planning & Control

• Support the planning and management of merchandising budgets across categories
• Monitor spending against plans and highlight risks, gaps, and opportunities
• Support re-forecasting and scenario analysis to optimize performance
• Manage and track buying budget allocation and utilization (Open-to-Buy: OTB) to ensure alignment with sales and inventory plans

2. Business Performance Analysis

• Analyze sales, margins, and overall business performance
• Provide clear insights and recommendations to support decision-making
• Prepare reports and presentations for management and stakeholders

3. Business Partnering

• Work closely with merchandising teams to align plans with financial targets
• Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, accruals, and variance analysis
• Support key commercial initiatives, promotions, and trading activities

4. Inventory & Stock Planning

• Support inventory planning in line with sales targets
• Monitor stock levels, sell-through, and overall stock health
• Identify risks and recommend actions to improve stock productivity and working capital efficiency

5. Process Improvement, Automation & Reporting

• Enhance reporting tools and frameworks to improve visibility and control
• Drive process automation and efficiency improvements (e.g., Excel, Power BI, system enhancements)
• Reduce manual work and improve data accuracy through automation initiatives
• Support the development of dashboards and performance tracking tools

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field

-5–8+ years of experience in finance, business analysis, or merchandising support

-Experience in retail or FMCG is an advantage

-Exposure to Open-to-Buy (OTB) or inventory planning is a plus
