The MD Strategy team drives Makro's overall merchandise strategy and leads the development of new brands and categories. This role partners closely with the MD Strategy lead to analyze data, generate actionable insights, and provide clear development direction to each division/category team.
Responsibilities
- Strategy Support: Support Makro-wide merchandise strategy through data-driven analysis and insight generation.
- Growth Opportunities: Identify growth opportunities across divisions and categories (new brands, categories, white spaces).
- Strategic Roadmaps: Develop strategic recommendations and development roadmaps for division/category teams.
- Insight Pipeline: Build insight pipelines from overseas retail best practices, online trends, and latest product/brand developments.
Requirements
- Background in online/e-commerce, preferably within FMCG or food-related industries
- Experience with platforms such as TikTok Shop, Shopee, and/or Lazada is an advantage
- Exposure to merchandising trends and category-level performance analysis
- Experience working in a Merchandising or Merchandise Strategy team is preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide category overviews and insights
- Good command of English communication skills

- Clear Communication: Able to structure and present recommendations concisely.
