About the role
As a React Native Lead, you will own the architecture, performance, and quality of the Kirana Club mobile app. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll spend most of your time building, reviewing, and improving the product while helping a small team raise the overall technical bar.
You'll work across the app stack to solve challenges around performance, reliability, scalability, and product. As the platform grows, you'll help shape the technical foundations that enable new product initiatives while ensuring a fast and dependable experience for millions of users across a wide range of Android devices and network conditions.
What You'll Do
- Own the architecture, performance, stability, and release quality of the Kirana Club mobile app.
- Build and maintain a large React Native codebase that serves millions of users across a wide range of Android devices and network conditions.
- Drive technical decisions around app structure, state management, navigation, networking, caching, and observability.
- Continuously improve app startup time, responsiveness, memory usage, and overall reliability, with a strong focus on low-end devices and unreliable network conditions.
- Build for a product that is heavily centered around commerce, community, images, and video, where performance and reliability directly impact user experience.
- Monitor app health through crash reporting, performance metrics, tracing, and release monitoring, and proactively address issues before they impact users.
- Partner closely with product and design teams to translate ideas into high-quality user experiences.
- Lead technical projects end-to-end, from planning and architecture through rollout and iteration, while mentoring a small team of engineers.
- Use tools like Claude Code and Codex as a core part of the development workflow to move faster and automate repetitive work.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of mobile development experience, including 4+ years working with React Native.
- Strong fundamentals in JavaScript, TypeScript, mobile application architecture, and software engineering.
- Experience scaling consumer-facing mobile applications serving large user bases, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Proven track record of solving performance and reliability challenges in production applications.
- Experience leading projects with ability to balance fast execution with long-term technical quality.
- Strong product instincts and attention to user experience.
