Job Description

Job Title: National Sales Manager – Distillers Yeast

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented National Sales Manager to lead the sales and business development of its Distillers Yeast portfolio across India.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and building long-term customer relationships within the ethanol and fermentation industries, particularly in molasses and grain-based distilleries.

This position requires a blend of technical knowledge, commercial expertise, and strategic thinking to develop sustainable business opportunities while working closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Drive sales growth and expand market share for the company's Distillers Yeast portfolio across India.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the ethanol, distillery, and fermentation industries.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with annual business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and channel partners.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Conduct customer visits, technical discussions, product demonstrations, and commercial negotiations.
  • Understand customer processes and recommend appropriate yeast-based solutions.
  • Manage key customer accounts to ensure high levels of satisfaction and long-term retention.
  • Support customers during product trials, validation, and commercial implementation.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing strategies, and emerging technologies.
  • Gather customer feedback and provide market insights to support product development and business strategy.
  • Identify new market segments and growth opportunities.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Technical Services, R&D, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing teams to ensure excellent customer support.
  • Coordinate demand forecasting, inventory planning, and sales reporting.
  • Identify execution gaps and proactively drive timely resolution.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, seminars, and customer events.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines, forecasts, and customer databases.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and business updates for management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and ethical business practices.

Qualifications

Education

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • MBA in Sales or Marketing will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • 3–10 years of experience in B2B sales of yeast or fermentation-related products.
  • Prior experience in selling Distillers Yeast for a yeast manufacturing or marketing company is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving sales targets.
  • Experience managing Pan-India sales operations is desirable.

  • Strong understanding of distillers yeast, fermentation processes, and ethanol production.

  • Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical, operational, and leadership teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-driven, customer-focused, and results-oriented.

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following industries will be preferred:

  • Food & Beverage

Good to Have

  • Established network within the distillery, ethanol, fermentation, or brewing industry.
  • Experience working with distributors and channel partners across India.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements applicable to fermentation products.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across India.
