- Design and implement load balancing solutions for mission-critical applications, supporting both internal and external traffic.
- Architect and maintain active/active infrastructure, including database and application tiers, with load balancer integration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Network, Security, Application, DevOps) to ensure secure, scalable, and highly available traffic flow.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across transport and application layers (Layer 47), including SSL/TLS handling, SNI routing, session persistence, and DNS-based traffic distribution.
- Develop and maintain traffic management policies and custom scripting for advanced routing logic.
- Integrate load balancing solutions with container platforms such as OpenShift or Kubernetes.
- Produce technical documentation including solution designs, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for network and application delivery issues.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience:
- 35 years of hands-on experience with enterprise-grade load balancing platforms (hardware or virtual appliances).
- Strong understanding of active/active architectures for databases and applications.
- Solid knowledge of enterprise networking fundamentals: routing, switching, firewall policies, NAT, and access control.
- Experience with traffic management scripting or policy-based routing (e.g., using TCL, JSON, or platform-native scripting).
- Proficient in SSL/TLS certificate management, including passthrough, offload, and SNI-based routing.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across network and application layers.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise or financial services environments is a strong advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience integrating load balancers with container orchestration platforms (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with security technologies such as web application firewalls (WAF), DDoS mitigation, or identity-aware access control.
- Relevant certifications in networking or application delivery (e.g., vendor-specific load balancer certifications, CCNP, etc.).
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Python scripting) is a plus.
