The NPI Supervisor is responsible for managing NPI engineer, the validation and industrialization of NPI models, manage the technical transition from design to production, ensuring process routes, cycle times, and manufacturing readiness are clearly defined and aligned for each build phase. The NPI Engineer coordinates the gates 2-1 and 1-0, and in daily contact with the team leaders of the different areas (Technical Office, Master Data, Plant, Toolshop, Quality, APQP) and different plants or regions and manages autonomously the relationships with product office/APQP for samples approval.
Job responsibilities;
- Involve into the design phase at L3 to anticipate and study the potential new models introduction and evaluate the feasibility based on internal processes; analyze early-stage build feedback to identify manufacturing risks or inefficiencies, and industrialization costs
- Manage of NPI industrialization (Gate 2-1 and 1-0); lead the coordination and execution of level transitions across build stages. Ensure each level meets defined quality gates (design freeze, tooling readiness, test validation) before progressing
- Create and maintain routing sheets and process flow definitions for each new model, define and input to design team the jigs needed
- Ensure accurate mapping of operations, work centers, and standard process sequences
- Be a partner with the management of the relationships with plants, technical office, product office, tool shop, quality, APQP
- Create or validate standard work instructions (WI) for operators and technicians, including safety, quality, and technical steps for each process
- Comply with the local and group policies, ISO certifications and other group systems
- Contribute to the external / internal audits
- Manage and coach to NPI engineer
- Ad-hoc from the manager
Job requirements;
- Bachelor's degree (mechanical engineering or material engineering is preferred)
- 5-7 years experience and knowledge of manufacturing techniques (injection molding, metal, machining, assembly)
- Good knowledge of technical 2D drawings; 3D CAD modeling is a plus
- Good English (reading, writing, specking) is required
- Good interpersonal skills and management skills
- Logical thinking and problem solving, Good Attitude, Target oriented mindset and capability to work independently in dynamic environment.
- Understanding of health and safety standard and regulations
- SAP system knowledge.
