Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Business Unit Op Ex team to create / implement road map

1.1 Contribute to the business unit team defining and refining the vision, mission and deployment efforts

1.2 Support Business Unit wide efforts (recognition events, best practices, cross business training, steering teams etc)

1.3 Excellent communication is maintained between and within each plant and the Business Unit team.

  • Facilitate Plant Steering Team in their Op Ex deployment

2.1 Needs analysis of business processes are completed.

2.2 Work with plant team to establish a local deployment plan

2.3 Establish and conduct training to ensure plant leadership team understands their role in leading Op Ex.

2.4 Establish and conduct training to ensure awareness for Op Ex principles exists within the plant leadership team.

2.5 Develop & maintain a project selection process for the plant.

  • Execute plant implementation of Policy Deployment

3.1 Assist with Strategic plan and the connection to Vital Few Priorities

3.2 Create / Distribute Vital Few bulletin

3.3 Develop / oversee effective plant management review process / monitor metrics and project review

3.4 Monitor plant / departmental management review process

3.5 Support the development of a project backlog for future improvements.

3.6 Develop, implement process to close performance gaps and implement best practices provide technical support

  • Develop Lean process and value stream mapping experts and coaching during transformation

4.1 Cost/benefit analyses are reviewed and recommendations made to management conduct project reviews.

4.2 Develop local Training Material in support of Op Ex

4.3 Expert in Continuous improvement concepts Efficiently develop materials appropriate for an adult learning environment.

  • Conduct Training / Lead workshops

5.1 Work with plant to ensure it are conducting 2 () workshops per month, attend report outs & provide feedback

5.2 Develop training network utilizing a train the trainer approach as needed.

5.3 Lead 5S deployment throughout the plant.

5.4 Support training of all employees in the use of MBF problem Solving.

5.5 Support Functional Excellence and re-engineering efforts.

5.6 Track Op Ex assessment and ensure progress towards final state

  • Manage activities & events within budget.

6.1 Accurate information is provided to Finance.

6.2 Department expenses are within budget.

6.3 Contingency plans are developed to assure quality service and product should re-budgeting become necessary due to business conditions.

  • Support Op Ex Intranet & best practice sharing/implementation

7.1 Maintain content and designs within site.

7.2 Maintain project tracking system and database for plant.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with equivalent experience (IE, PE preferred)
  • High Communication and Presentation skills
  • Lean Manufacturing / Enterprise exposure
  • General business exposure
  • Good understanding of improvement tools such as Lean, SIX SIGMA, and Continuous Improvement
  • Good verbal and written communication skills being able to communicate at all levels within the organization
  • Experience of process mapping and implementing, monitoring & improving processes
  • A good level of IT literacy
  • Six sigma black belt qualification preferred
  • Fluent in English
  • Willing to travel in the UK and Europe

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of operations excellence /Productivity/ Lean Engineer, TPS Engineer experience
  • Automotive industry / Metal Casting Industry / Electronics
  • Experience in project management environment preferred
  • Experience in Daily management preferred
