Lead and manage the end-to-end development of Own Brand Personal Care products for Malaysia and also DFI operating markets
Identify emerging consumer needs, personal care trends, and business opportunities to develop differentiated and competitive Own Brand products.
Conduct market intelligence, consumer insights analysis, and competitor benchmarking to ensure products deliver clear customer value and market differentiation.
Monitor market trends in personal care, ingredients, packaging, and sustainability to drive product innovation.
Identify, evaluate, and develop strategic partnerships with supplier partners to support Own Brand product development initiatives.
Manage supplier performance to ensure product innovation, quality, cost competitiveness, regulatory compliance, and supply reliability.
Negotiate product costs, commercial terms, and development timelines to maximize profitability and achieve business objectives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives with supplier partners to enhance product quality, innovation, and operational efficiency.
Partner closely with the Technical Team and Hong Kong Product Development Team to ensure all Own Brand products meet company quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for product enhancement, reformulation, range extensions, and portfolio optimization
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Biology, Science or related disciplines.
Minimum 5 years experience in Product Development or Category Management within the personal care, beauty or health & beauty retail industries.
Experience in health & beauty retailers, pharmacy chains, personal care brands, personal care manufacturers, or Own Brand development will be a strong advantage.
Strong knowledge of personal care manufacturing process, regulations, product compliance requirements, ingredient trend
Experience in developing and sourcing personal care products is preferred.
Proven track record of managing product development projects from concept through commercialization.
Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret market trends, consumer insights, sales performance, and competitor activities.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and drive results.
Fluency in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis/reporting tools is preferred.
Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Assistant Product Development Manager.
