About the role

To assist the packaging development manager in overseeing technical project execution, mentoring team members, and ensuring alignment with company strategies. This role is a key stepping stone toward future leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Oversight & Alignment

Monitor multiple packaging development projects for technical soundness and timely delivery

Ensure alignment with strategic priorities and packaging standards

Assist in risk mitigation and problem-solving with cross-functional stakeholders

2. Technical Leadership & Mentoring

Provide technical guidance and act as first point of contact for team troubleshooting

Mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing

Support training and onboarding for new developers

3. Cross-Functional Communication

Represent the packaging development team in selected meetings

Facilitate collaboration with product development, marketing, procurement, and operations

Help translate consumer and brand requirements into packaging solutions

4. Process Excellence & Documentation

Ensure accuracy and completeness of packaging documentation/specifications

Promote standardization and best practices in packaging development

Support improvement of internal development processes and tools

5. Leadership Development (Stretch Role)

Assist in team coordination, planning, and workload balancing

Identify opportunities for team capability building

Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and decision-making growth aligned with future manager role

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Science, Packaging Technology or related field.
  2. At least 10-15 years of experience in food packaging development or FMCG industry.
  3. Strong project management experience with cross-functional teams (NPD, R&D, QA, Marketing, Manufacturing)
  4. Solid knowledge of packaging materials, processes, testing methods, and regulations.
  5. Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience within technical teams.
  6. Can-do attitude and a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
  7. Agility mindset with openness to change and continuous learning.
