As we continue expanding across the region, we're looking for an experienced Payments Operations / Finance Operations Associate Manager to ensure our financial operations remain accurate, efficient, scalable, and well-controlled.
Role Overview
The Payments Operations / Finance Operations Associate Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational flow of payments, settlements, treasury support, reconciliation, and financial controls.
This role acts as the bridge between Finance, Operations, Product, Compliance, Banking Partners, and Customer Success to ensure payment transactions are processed accurately while maintaining regulatory and operational standards.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving operational challenges, improving workflows, and managing high-volume financial transactions in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Operations
- Manage daily payment processing across local and cross-border payment rails
- Monitor payment queues and ensure timely processing of customer transactions
- Investigate and resolve failed, delayed, or rejected transactions
- Coordinate payment execution with banking partners and payment providers
- Ensure payment SLAs are consistently achieved
Settlement & Reconciliation
- Perform daily reconciliation between:
- Banking platforms
- Internal payment systems
- Customer wallets
- Ledger balances
- Payment processors
- Investigate reconciliation discrepancies and resolve exceptions promptly
- Support month-end and year-end financial reconciliation processes
- Maintain settlement reports and operational dashboards
Treasury & Liquidity Support
- Monitor daily liquidity positions across multiple bank accounts
- Support fund transfers between operating accounts
- Coordinate with Treasury on liquidity requirements
- Monitor incoming and outgoing settlement obligations
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and operational funding needs
Financial Operations
- Support Finance with transaction verification and accounting support
- Prepare operational reports for Finance and Management
- Ensure operational records are complete and audit-ready
- Assist with invoice validation and payment verification where required
- Support operational aspects of financial closing activities
Operational Controls & Risk
- Ensure operational processes comply with internal controls and regulatory requirements
- Identify operational risks and recommend process improvements
- Maintain accurate operational documentation and SOPs
- Support internal audits and external regulatory reviews
- Escalate operational incidents promptly
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Banking, Economics, or a related discipline
- 5–8 years of experience in:
- Payment Operations
- Finance Operations
- Treasury Operations
- Banking Operations
- Fintech Operations
- At least 1–2 years of experience leading or mentoring a team
- Experience working in fintech, payments, banking, remittance, or financial institutions
- Strong understanding of:
- Payment lifecycle
- Settlement processes
- Reconciliation
- Treasury operations
- Financial controls
- Experience handling high-volume transactions
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SQL, Power BI, or Tableau is an advantage
- Experience working with ERP systems, payment platforms, or treasury management systems is preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
