Position: People & Learning Manager
Job Purpose:
To manage and oversee People related functions and Learning & Development initiatives within the organization. This role involves enhancing team member performance, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with People & Culture policies and regulations.
Tasks / Responsibilities:
People Related:
- Assist in all People & Culture functions such as recruitment and interviewing processes, compensation and benefits, compliance with statutory requirements team member relations and labor relations.
- Assist and supervise the daily activities of the People & Culture Department.
- Assist and maintain, on a daily basis, giving a proper guidance of disciplinary action in terms of preparing a warning letter, wording, template & formatting align with labor law and employee's handbook.
- Supervise and coach the People & Culture Coordinator for all related administration, relating to employee benefits and welfare.
- Monitor and ensure that Employee Information Board is up to date.
- Anticipate the employee requests and questions.
- Conduct the Hotel Welfare Committee to improve and maintain a good level of welfare and wellbeing for all employees by having regular meetings, implement actions and communicate to concerns.
Learning & Development:
- Ensure the effective implementation of all Learning & Development Policies and whilst maintaining COMO Hotels and Resorts Standards in People & Culture Management.
- Design, develop, plan, administrate and implement an effective and systematic day to day training activities and programs for all levels or employees.
- Ensure the implementation of an active and efficient Departmental Training system.
- Review the progress of the Hotel's Learning & Development Plan and make recommendations where necessary.
- Hands-on and observe, review and improve Learning & Development practices and procedures throughout the hotel departments.
- Prepare and coordinate Familiarization Programs for Key Management and Non Key Management positions.
- Develop, update and organize well-structured Orientation Program in line with corporate guidance and to ensure that all New Hires are scheduled to attend the Hotel and Departmental Orientation Programs.
- Produce the monthly / quarterly / annual training reports together with upcoming training programs and submit to Senior Manager, People & Learning and Director of People & Learning at the end of month.
- Manage employee communication activities and programs to drive employee engagement such as monthly celebrations, direct line talk with General Manager, staff outings, safety and environmental committees.
- Ensure that employees are trained in all compliant programs completely as per the requirement by local laws and company standard.
- Liaise with Security Manager to ensure that Safety Committee Team work out for all safety and security related, follow-up the correction actions for any challenge and/or concerns for our employees safety.
- Manage the training curriculums and report submission with Skills Development Department correctly and timely as per all requirements from Skill Development Act.
- Ensure that the Training Budget is strictly adhered to and that all costs are spent wisely
Departmental Trainers:
- Ensure that the recommended quota of Departmental Trainers are trained and maintained for each department
- Ensure the maximum utilization of Departmental Trainers for each Department and follow up closely with LQA trainings, As well to ensure the departmental trainers are responsible to work closely with various department heads, Director of People & Culture & GM on self-internal audit of LQA effectiveness.
- Initiate and implement regular training and motivational / recognition programs to motivate Departmental Trainers and schedule the regular meeting with them.
- Work with the Departmental Trainers and ensure that they submit and conduct Monthly Departmental Training Schedules.
Industrial Release Students:
- Build, liaise and maintain the connections Schools / Colleges / Universities concerned for building up the employer branding and arrange the recruitment/selection Industrial Release Students
- Constantly monitor progress of individual trainees by meeting monthly with trainees and receive feedback from Department Heads involved in program and identify possible future hires for the Human Resources database.
General:
- Ensure individual style, working practices, and conduct align with COMO's Mission, Vision and Values.
- Enhances team morale and spirit by cultivating strong relationships with hotel colleagues.
- Undertakes any additional tasks as instructed by the superior.
- Is thoroughly acquainted with all health and safety, fire, and emergency procedures.
- Adheres to high standards of personal hygiene, attire, uniform, and body language.
- Remains courteous and professional in all situations that reflect on the hotel's reputation.
- Attends meetings and training sessions as required by the superior.
- Actively participates in and supports the hotel's sustainable practices, contributes and initiatives.
- Ensures that all activities are conducted with honesty, integrity, and in line with Thai law.
