Are you an experienced Process Engineer looking to take ownership of high-impact projects within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
This role offers the opportunity to work across process engineering, technology transfer, equipment validation, process optimisation and capital projects, while partnering closely with cross-functional teams to support robust and compliant manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Process Engineering deliverables for capital projects, new product introductions and new process technology developments.
- Provide manufacturing engineering support, including process development, technology transfer, scale-up and implementation of new technologies.
- Plan and execute testing, studies and experiments related to new processes, products and technology transfers.
- Work closely with Technical Services and project teams to establish Critical and Key Process Parameters for equipment and process validation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned equipment and processes, supporting investigations, design reviews, troubleshooting, change controls and capital planning.
- Develop process concepts, processing schemes, feasibility studies, PFDs and detailed project scopes.
- Identify and implement initiatives to enhance safety, product quality, yield, cost efficiency and material utilisation.
- Support process and automation design, including control strategies, instrumentation specifications, alarm settings and emergency/shutdown procedures.
- Prepare, review and maintain procedures, master batch records and technical documentation in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Design and execute process studies, analyse data and prepare study proposals, progress reports, development reports and technical memoranda.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance commercial manufacturing processes.
- Support scale-up activities from R&D through to production and contribute to maintaining robust manufacturing processes post-launch.
- Lead troubleshooting activities and investigate manufacturing deviations using appropriate root cause analysis methodologies.
- Recommend and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in equipment URS development, retrofits, FATs, SATs and related equipment qualification activities.
- Contribute to Quality Risk Assessments and process hazard analysis activities.
- Develop project scopes and cost plans to support capital expenditure requests.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritising deliverables according to business and project requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving project and operational requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Biomedical Sciences or related sciences and above.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in Process Engineering, preferably within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks and meet project timelines.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, process development and technical operations.
- A proactive, professional approach with strong work ethics and attention to quality and compliance.
