Job Description
Industrialize new products and new technology into production. Ensure close working interface as business partner between plant and R&D. Provide technical support by triggering the necessary industrialization activities and business improvement measures. Oversee introduction, development and maintenance of specifications.
Assess plant readiness based on future R&D requirements in terms of invest and capacity
Drive process to translate R&D requirements into tangible impacts on the plant ( in terms of invest, capacity, capability)
Build up a thorough understanding of R&D processes within the plant organization
Promote new technologies tire sizes and products within the plant
Act as main technical interface to R&D and keep open and honest communication between R&D and the plant
Initiate Value Leadership measures to improve the direct material and process costs according to plant objectives
Ensure introduction of new raw materials and / or compounds on time with consideration of the local manufacturing process capabilities
Ensure the creation and distribution of all related specifications in the assigned systems
Ensure correct curing specifications for ETO, Pilot and Serial Production.
Guarantee the correct validation of all process related steps from pre-curing to curing and post curing.
Ensure SOP of new products and technologies according to R&D requirements and plant objectives
Lead structured problem solving tasks/projects for industrialization challenges in the plant
Execute industrialization activities of new and experimental materials, products and processes in close cooperation with R&D. (Trigger performance neutral alternatives)
Offer technical alternatives which are optimized for process capabilities, cost, minimized rework and comply with the established Release Notice Procedure, Cured Tire Dimensions, and QMD Standards
Ensure that internal KPIs are met on a consistent basis and initiate structured problem solving tasks in case of deviations
Drive the 3-4-1 concept within the plant
Provide technical support to production on performance relevant constructional / tyres engineering issues by using appropriate Problem solving methods
Promote teamwork and efficient distribution of tasks within the 3-4-1 and business team concept within the plant organization
Supervises and manages projects related to industrialization and continuous improvement
Working with project management structure in the plant for successful implementation within a given timeline
Ensure implementation of measures and maintain controls
Raise awareness and provide information about ESH responsibilities and duties
Ensure immediate notification and response, and initiate preventive measures in case of unsafe or polluting hazards
Demonstrate exemplary personal behavior in ESH and motivate others
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related filed
- Profound experience in Engineering, preferably in the automotive industry or other industrial manufacturing environment
- Strong problem solving, planning and organizational skills
- Working in a large international corporation and in complex matrix organizations
- Demonstrated intercultural sensitivity and inclusive behavior
- Communicating effectively and working under time pressure
- Fluent in English communication
