About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Planner / Planning Engineer to join the project team in Chonburi, Thailand. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project programmes to ensure construction activities are delivered on schedule and in line with project objectives.
This role will suit a planning professional with strong experience in greenfield construction projects. Data centre experience will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules from pre-construction through to project completion.
- Establish project baselines, key milestones, critical paths, and construction sequencing.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, site teams, subcontractors, and consultants to develop realistic construction programmes.
- Monitor actual progress against planned progress and identify schedule delays, risks, and potential impacts.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, look-ahead programmes, and schedule updates for project management and clients.
- Analyse schedule performance and recommend mitigation and recovery strategies where required.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, procurement activities, engineering deliverables, and construction activities.
- Coordinate with site teams to collect progress information and ensure accurate reporting.
- Develop short-, medium-, and long-term programmes to support project delivery.
- Review subcontractor programmes and ensure alignment with the overall master programme.
- Identify schedule risks and work with project stakeholders to develop appropriate mitigation plans.
- Support project meetings by providing programme updates, progress analysis, and schedule forecasts.
- Maintain accurate planning documentation and ensure programme changes are properly recorded.
- Assist with extension of time claims, delay analysis, and schedule-related commercial matters where required.
- Ensure project planning activities are aligned with contractual requirements, project objectives, and company procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 7–15 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, or planning engineering within the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong experience working on greenfield construction projects.
- Experience working on large-scale construction, industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, or mission-critical projects is preferred.
- Data centre project experience will be considered a strong advantage.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, project scheduling, and progress monitoring.
- Experience working with project scheduling/planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify programme risks and develop recovery strategies.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Willingness to be site-based in Chonburi.
