This is a 12-month contract position. Candidates selected for this role will be engaged under a local third-party employer on a contract basis. While the role supports Valvoline and works alongside internal teams, all employment terms, payroll, and benefits will be managed by the third-party provider.

Job Purpose:

This is a 12-month contract position based in Thailand. The Planning Specialist is responsible for executing end-to-end supply planning activities supporting the Australia and Rest of Asia (ROA) markets. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product availability, optimize inventory, support demand fulfilment, manage supply risks, and deliver an efficient and reliable supply planning process.

How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities):

Supply Planning

  • Manage supply planning for Thailand, supporting ROA markets, including Australia.
  • Coordinate with toll blenders to align material availability with production schedules.
  • Manage the supply of packaging materials to ensure availability and readiness according to production plans.
  • Collaborate with packaging suppliers and stakeholders to ensure on-time material delivery and prevent production delays.
  • Analyze direct material requirements, production schedules, and inventory levels to develop effective material plans across direct material categories.
  • Monitor capacity utilization, constraints, and potential supply risks for Thailand toll blenders.
  • Coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve supply issues in a timely manner. Recommend mitigation actions to ensure supply continuity.
  • Identify and escalate potential supply chain risks, such as material shortages or supply disruptions, and develop contingency plans.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of material and supply planning processes.

S&OP Process Governance, Project Coordination & Inventory Management

  • Support the monthly S&OP cycle preparation and coordination, and facilitate/lead supply review meetings.
  • Consolidate supply inputs and prepare supply scenarios for review meetings. Track action items and follow up on decisions from meetings.
  • Act as the planning focal point and facilitate alignment discussions across planning stakeholders when required.
  • Support supply chain improvement initiatives, S&OP process enhancements, and planning system implementations.
  • Provide backup support for the Regional Demand Planner and Supply Planners during leave periods or transition situations to ensure business continuity.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet key performance targets such as LIFR%, Inventory Value, Days of Supply (DOS), and Days on Hand (DOH).
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize long-aging, excess, or obsolete stock.
  • Conduct regular safety stock reviews and adjustments in alignment with demand variability and supply constraints.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive continuous supply chain improvement by mapping processes, identifying opportunities, recommending process improvements, and leading change management initiatives.
  • Perform product costing analysis, support cost-saving initiatives, and track performance.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely updates of supply chain master data, including BOM, DOS parameters, and other relevant supply chain databases.
  • Monitor and support the achievement of supply chain KPIs.
  • Ensure deliverables are completed within stipulated timelines.
  • Provide quality reporting and analytical insights to support decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Role (Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities):

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply planning, production planning, or regional supply chain roles.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Exposure to the S&OP process is an advantage.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with ERP and planning systems (e.g., SAP APO, SAP IBP).
  • Project coordination or supply chain transformation experience is preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-country, matrix environment.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Competencies Desired:

  • SAP, SAP APO, SAP IBP, Microsoft Office, and Power BI.
