Plant SHE Manager

  • Level: Department Manager
  • Location: Samut Sakhon, Thailand

Job Summary

The Plant Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager is responsible for leading and driving safety, occupational health, and environmental management programs across the manufacturing site. This role ensures compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, promotes a strong safety culture, minimises operational and environmental risks, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to achieve world-class SHE performance

The position partners closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to implement SHE strategies, manage audits and certifications, investigate incidents, develop employee capabilities, and foster a culture of safety and sustainability throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

1. SHE Strategy & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and execute site-level SHE strategies, initiatives, and improvement plans aligned with business and organisational objectives
  • Monitor SHE performance indicators and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to drive SHE excellence and sustainable operational practice
  • s.Support the implementation of corporate SHE policies, standards, and programs

2. Safety, Health & Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, health, environmental, and occupational regulations
  • Monitor regulatory changes and recommend actions to maintain compliance
  • Maintain all required SHE permits, licenses, records, and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate external inspections, audits, and certification activities

3. Risk Assessment & Control

  • Lead risk assessments across manufacturing operations and ensure effective control measures are implemented
  • Identify workplace hazards and ensure preventive and corrective actions are complete
  • d.Promote proactive safety initiatives and risk reduction programs

4. Incident Management & Emergency Preparedness

  • Lead investigations of safety, health, environmental, and property-related incidents
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive action
  • Ensure timely reporting, documentation, and closure of incidents
  • Develop, review, and maintain emergency response and crisis management procedures
  • Coordinate emergency drills and preparedness activities

5. SHE Audits & Management Systems

  • Plan and conduct SHE audits, inspections, and compliance assessments
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, including certification audits
  • Track audit findings and ensure timely closure of corrective action
  • Manage SHE documentation and management systems to ensure compliance and effectiveness

6. Environmental Management & Sustainability

  • Oversee environmental programs related to waste management, wastewater treatment, emissions control, energy efficiency, and resource utilisation
  • Drive environmental improvement and sustainability initiatives
  • Monitor environmental performance indicators and implement improvement plans

7. Training & Safety Culture

  • Develop and deliver SHE training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Promote SHE awareness through communication campaigns and engagement activities
  • Drive employee participation in safety initiatives and behaviour-based safety programs
  • Build a strong safety culture through coaching, leadership engagement, and continuous improvement

8. Leadership & Team Manageme

  • Lead and develop the site SHE team to achieve performance objectives
  • Coach and mentor team members to strengthen technical and leadership capabilities
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to improve overall SHE performanc
  • Support talent development and succession planning within the SHE function

9. Project & Change Management

  • Participate in capital projects and operational changes to ensure SHE requirements are incorporated from the design stage
  • Review and validate projects involving safety, occupational health, or environmental impact
  • Support the safe implementation of new equipment, technologies, and manufacturing processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or a related field
  • Professional Safety Officer Certification and/or other relevant SHE certifications preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Safety, Health & Environment within manufacturing, industrial, food manufacturing, packaging, FMCG, or related industries
  • Proven experience in SHE management systems, audits, and regulatory compliance progra
  • ms.Strong experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and emergency response management
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational safety, health, and environmental management systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other relevant international standards
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing capabilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to drive organisational change and foster a strong safety culture.
  • Good command of both Thai and English
  • Travel Requirement: Occasional travel within Samut Sakhon and nearby manufacturing sites as required
