As part of the Minor Digital 2.0 transformation program, we are building a unified omni-channel digital ecosystem that connects:

  • Global brand websites
  • Internet Booking Engine (IBE)
  • Enterprise CMS and Digital Asset Management platforms
  • Payments and integrations
  • Mobile applications and emerging AI-enabled channels

The Platform Tech Lead will play a critical role in architecting and guiding the technology transition from legacy systems to the future digital platform.

Role Overview
The Platform Tech Lead is responsible for defining and implementing the technical architecture and engineering standards that support Minor Hotels global digital platform.

This role sits at the intersection of technology, product, and commercial teams, requiring strong communication and leadership skills alongside deep technical expertise.

The successful candidate will work closely with global teams across Bangkok, Madrid, and Brisbane, guiding engineering decisions, enabling scalable integrations, and ensuring that the platform supports long-term business growth.

The role also requires strong knowledge of AI-enabled software development workflows, modern architecture principles, and enterprise digital experience platforms.

Key Responsibilities
Platform Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Design and maintain scalable platform architecture supporting global brand websites and booking journeys.
  • Architect integrations between legacy systems and the new omni-channel digital platform.
  • Lead architectural decisions around APIs, integration layers, data flows, and system interoperability.
  • Ensure architectural decisions support long-term scalability, performance, and maintainability.

Enterprise Platform Expertise

  • Work extensively with enterprise technologies including:
    • CMS platforms (e.g., Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, Optimizely, etc)
    • Digital Asset Management systems
    • Internet Booking Engines
  • Ensure seamless integration between content platforms, booking systems, and operational platforms.

AI-Enabled Development Practices

  • Lead the adoption of AI tools within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Demonstrate practical use of AI for:
    • Code generation and review
    • Documentation and automation
    • Test case generation
    • Development productivity improvements
  • Establish engineering practices that integrate AI responsibly and effectively.

Agile Development & Delivery

  • Champion Agile development methodologies across global teams.
  • Work closely with Product Owners and delivery teams to ensure technical feasibility of roadmap initiatives.
  • Translate product requirements into technical architecture and implementation strategies.

API & Integration Strategy

  • Define and implement API standards to support scalable platform integration.
  • Lead development of reusable services and integration frameworks.
  • Ensure architectural decisions support new business capabilities and digital channels.

Global Collaboration & Vendor Coordination

  • Coordinate development work across internal teams and outsourced engineering partners.
  • Work across multiple time zones with stakeholders in Bangkok, Madrid, and Brisbane.
  • Ensure external vendors adhere to architectural standards and best practices.

Documentation & Automation

  • Maintain high standards of technical documentation for architecture, APIs, and platform components.
  • Drive automation across development workflows including testing, deployment, and monitoring.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience in software engineering, platform architecture, or technical leadership
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise digital platforms
  • Strong experience with CMS, DAM, and booking or ecommerce platforms
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools within development workflows
  • Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies
  • Experience leading distributed engineering teams and external vendors
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Technical Skills
Preferred experience with:

  • Enterprise CMS platforms (Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, Optimizely, etc.)
  • API architecture and microservices
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • DevOps and CI/CD automation
  • Modern frontend frameworks and headless architectures
  • Data integration and middleware platforms

Industry Experience (Highly Preferred)
Experience in hospitality, travel, or booking-driven platforms, including:

  • Hotels or Online Travel Agencies
  • Airlines or transportation platforms
  • Cruise or tour operators
  • Ticketing or reservation platforms
